Famously, words from José’s mother, Isabel, have been one of the greatest influences on the way he understands food and hospitality. The chef, often described as the godfather of Spanish cooking, has spent decades building an extraordinary career. Yet at the heart of those memories is always his mother. More than anything, the lesson his parents passed down was simple but lasting: do everything with love. It’s a philosophy that continues to guide José today; from the way he cooks to the way he welcomes guests into his restaurants. “They always taught me that anyone coming to the house, they need to leave full and they need to leave happy!” And this Mother’s Day, we follow the same spirit.
