Where it all started. Opened in 2011, José Tapas Bar is a cult-favourite Spanish tapas restaurant known for its vibrant, no-bookings atmosphere.
Inspired by the bustling tapas bars around La Boquería market in Barcelona and traditional spots across Andalucía, José is informal, lively, and made for squeezing in.
The Bib Gourmand is an official Michelin Guide distinction
recognising restaurants serving high-quality food with good
value prices.
We’re proud to have been awarded our Bib in 2011,
just months after opening, which we’ve retained ever since.

just arrive as you are.
Seating time is 1:30h.
We’re happy to be flexible
and will always do our best to
accommodate a longer stay.

The newest addition to the Bermondsey Street family, Lolo is found right next door to José Tapas at 102 Bermondsey St.
Open from breakfast every day (11.30 Mon – Fri, from 9am at the weekend), it’s the perfect spot for a leisurely start and all through the day.

Centred around our open kitchen, Pizarro is our second neighbourhood restaurant just a short stroll from our original José Tapas bar. Be it long lunches, joining us with a larger group for the evening or dropping in solo for a couple of small plates and a glass of something, we’ve got you covered.
